The depression children are much different than the Boomers that came after them. I am Gen X, but I have Silent Generation parents. My daughter is Gen Alpha, but she has Gen X parents. I wonder how that is going to play out. I know she enjoys more freedom than the other kids.

Class will ease the some of the brunt of race, but race is always there. I think my classmates would have said the same about me and two other black guys in my grade...but the black girls were isolated. Even now as I unpack my youth I see the issues.

I am doing this heal, but to protect my daughter from becoming me.

It is a delicate balance.
