I was born in Ingelwood, my mother was a teacher in Comptom. I got my Masters and law degree from USC. There are rules to LA, that many individuals who come from everywhere, but LA, do not understand. Breaking those important mores led to this young father getting senselessly murdered. You do not wear expensive gear in certain parts of LA, without armed security. You also never geo-tag yourself in certain parts of LA, until you are gone. With that said, the adjancey to wealth that many of those trapped in poverty, causes destrictive acts like senseless murder. Plotting, in LA, is one of the treat past-times. This black woman and her now dead father of her children, are an example of what not to do in LA. The problem is they should be able to do everything they did and live another day. You are correct, the real problem were the men who murdered a young man over a guady chain, that they pawned. Them pawning the chain will cause them to be identified and arrested. Then they will plea of be found guilty and sentenced to at least 30-years in prison. So many lives destroyed, because they felt their best economic opportunty was plotting on another black man, who was having a good time with his partner. There is a lot of blame, the system that glories wealth, the systems that continues to create poverty and limit opportunties to escape. The systems that allow for us to continue to devalue the import and value of black men's lives. And yes the two criminals who plotted on and murdered a black man. Excellent piece.
