One great piece of advice that I have received is that you do not have to imagine what it is like to be something that you are not, because you can just go read that group/person's own words about their own existence.

Right now the GOP has decided to attack trans people in a way that is vile and hateful. I wrote this in part to let all of the trans people know that people that look like me: black, straight, cis-gender male stands shoulder to shoulder with you and every other trans person as we fight against the fascism that they want to introduce in this country that we love.
