I have not watched the full video of Mr. Nicoles being beaten. I have no desire to spectate another black man lying on the ground and first responders failing to do their job and respond to his life-threatening injuries. I have subjected myself to enough trauma of watching black men, women, and children get beaten, choked, shot, tortured, and become the victims of homicide. In some very rare and recent cases, our judicial system has declared that these black people were murdered. We have collectively anguished as we have seen police officers murder black people with impunity.

It was with relief that we greeted the news that these black officers were, correctly, fired. We rejoiced when we learned they were arrested. Yet, these five black men were sacrifices to the altar of white supremacy. The right-wing propaganda that manufactures racism and feasts on the ignorance of this nation was quick to create graphics that paraded each of these black cops in front of their audience. They could point to them and denounce them. For years they have lied to their audience about the propensity of black men to use violence.
